Subcompact Glock in Purple Glitter
I was commissioned to create a holster for a young lady who has recently gotten her conceal carry license, and wanted a purple holster for her Subcompact Glock. After some negotiations to ride height, cant, and intangible arrangements, I got started. She decided that she wanted a holster that would ride high so it would easily conceal under a ladies’ jacket, and that it should have no cant so it would work equally well as a strong-side or cross-draw for her little Glock. When I was nearly done, she asked for glitter. I had never glittered a holster before, but I was intrigued. I dug out some really nice, violet glitter and figured out a way to apply it under the top coat on the leather. Here’s what I came up with. The sheen shot:
And, the dark shot:
The pics really don’t do this one justice. The photography doesn’t show the stars like it should. I don’t know that I want to mess with glitter again without some massive experimentation prior, but it was a lot of fun. I wanted Jenni to model this one for me, but she wasn’t wearing pants with belt loops. So, I showed how manly this holster can be in my Armani suit.
As you can see, it will wear strong-side for a nice, right-hand draw:
Or, it wears very nicely on the left for an efficient cross-draw:
This thing is quite breath-taking in real life. I had my dad take the pics with his Rebel DSLR in hopes that the pictures would come out better than they would have with Jen’s Olympus point-and-shoot. They did come out better than they would have, but not nearly as well as I had hoped for. Still, I think you get the point. This holster has made me think of other possibilities for appliques. Now, I’m going to have to do a partial gold-leaf or rose pedal hoster. The possibilities are endless!
UPDATE:
The owner’s feedback comments on this holster,
I did receive it and it is beautiful. Even my mom said it looks wonderful! Thank you ever so much. I LOVE the color and the glitter just adds that extra spark.
